NEW! Hawks Buddy Program

The Hawks Buddy Program is a new program, sponsored by the PTA, for the 2020-2021 school year. The goal is to connect new families with returning families at Tassajara Hills Elementary (T.H.E) to build community and support families who are new to the school.

Are you a new family to T.H.E., Danville, or California who would like to be paired up with a buddy family?

  • Please contact us and we will match you up with a T.H.E. Hawks family who can offer guidance and welcome you to the community.

  • If you are interested, please sign up here: HawksBuddies form.

Are you a returning T.H.E. family who would be willing to serve as a buddy family to support the transition of new families to our school community?

  • T.H.E. is looking for volunteers who are willing to share their experience by answering questions that new parents might have about procedures, school life and events, and their overall transition into a new community. Sometimes little, everyday things can be overwhelming for new students and their parents, especially if they are new to the state or country or speak another language! And in this unconventional school year, it’s even more challenging for new families to meet other families, so perhaps you can introduce them to some families in their children’s grades to help them settle in.

  • We will contact you if you are a good "match" with a new family with similar ages/gender of children, neighborhood, and/or cultural/language background. We are hopeful that together we can welcome new families moving from both near and far.

  • If you are interested, please sign up here: HawksBuddies form.

This program is supported by the PTA and coordinated by Janice Kim Yosifon and Rhonda Tessem. For more information, please email them at HawksBuddies@gmail.com.

Goals

The primary goal of the Tassajara Hills PTA is to help foster and build a sense of community where all feel welcome, can contribute, can benefit, and can make a positive difference for all children and families at Tassajara Hills Elementary School.  We hope you will help us achieve this goal by joining the Tassajara Hills PTA today!

What We Do

Our organization is run 100% by volunteers. We are extremely grateful for the parents and community members who help us run these programs and events every year. Many of the PTA programs and events are also funded through membership and other fundraising activities, including the annual Fall Carnival and the sale of Spirit Wear, yearbooks, and student directories.  The funds allow the PTA to plan, financially support, and organize the following programs and events that benefit the entire Tassajara Hills community:

  • Meet the Masters art program
  • Clay Docent program
  • Breakfast Book Club
  • Multicultural Night
  • Science Night
  • STEM Club
  • Stride for Pride
  • Ability Awareness Week
  • Sister School Donation Drives
  • Family Fun Nights
  • Staff appreciation events
  • Teacher grants, field trip grants, Copy Center, and much more!
