SRVUSD Revised Survey and Input Information
Posted 6/25/20

After hearing from many of you about the most recent surveys on the Plan for Reopening, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close the current surveys and re-issue links to new surveys. The new surveys have a revised methodology which ensures staff and 6-12 grade students can access the survey through the email address and that every current SRVUSD parent may take the survey once per student. If you have already taken the survey, you will need to retake the survey, which will be open through Monday, July 6th.

The current survey links have been disabled. To access the new, secure survey links:.

  • Staff and 6-12 Grade Students: new links will be emailed directly to email addresses.

    • Can take the survey once via the email address.

    • Student surveys are intended to garner student input and therefore should be completed by the students, themselves, and not the parent.

  • Parents: access the survey by clicking this link or through a link on our website.

    • Will need their student’s ID# in order to log in and complete the survey.

    • Will be able to take the survey once for each student enrolled in our schools with an ID#.

The District and Board of Education are using the survey results as one of many data points in formulating a plan for a safe return to school in fall 2020. Their need for accurate data from current SRVUSD parents, staff and students is an integral part of a complete plan that meets the needs of as many of our families as possible.

We also want to thank the 2,783 unique viewers who watched the live stream of our 6/23 Board of Education meeting. Understandably, the presentation of the Draft Planning and Guidance Document generated a lot of interest.

In case you were not able to view the meeting in real time, the meeting was recorded and can be viewed on the District’s YouTube channel at your convenience. Additionally, a copy of the Reopening Planning and Guidance presentation that was made to staff has been posted on our website.

In summary, the Board was presented with three possible scenarios for students’ return to school in the fall:

  1. Full time return to campus 5 days/week

  2. A hybrid model, where students would spend part of the week learning on campus and part of the week learning remotely

  3. Full time remote learning

After taking the information in the presentation under consideration, engaging in an in-depth conversation about what is best for families and kids, and considering the best ways to maximize instructional minutes, the Board Members directed staff to focus their efforts on two options: creating plans for a full time return to campus and for full time remote learning.

At this time, we want to direct everyone to the official channels that we have set up to receive comments, questions and suggestions about the Reopening Plan and ask that you please use these official feedback options rather than emailing staff and Board Members directly. Submitting your questions and comments using the official channels available on our website allows us to efficiently coalesce all the information coming in and use it to prepare for the final Reopening Plan.

We understand that you have a lot of questions. We are receiving many emails and are asking for your understanding as we are unable to respond to individual emails from now until the Board meeting in mid-July.  In order to be ready for your students, staff time these next few weeks will be dedicated to preparing for reopening in the fall.

Thank you for partnering with us as we make these onerous decisions. Your input and suggestions are an essential part of this process and we are grateful for the insight that you offer.
